Newborn Care Education

Whether you're parenting solo or as a couple, this four-hour class is here to support you. You can join in person or virtually, whatever fits best with your life right now. This is a great refresher course for experience parents and grandparents as well as great preparation for first time parents.

What's covered

Your Baby’s Body and Movements

Newborn skin, reflexes, and behaviors can be surprising at first. We’ll go over what’s normal and what might need a call to the doctor, so you’re not left wondering or googling at 2am.

Understanding Baby Cues

Crying doesn’t have to feel mysterious. You’ll learn how to spot signs of hunger, sleepiness, and discomfort so you can respond in ways that build trust and connection.

Feeding Your Baby

Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or a mix of both, we’ll talk about what’s realistic, what’s helpful, and how to tell your baby is getting enough to eat.

Diapering and Hygiene

You’ll get hands-on tips for diaper changes, caring for the umbilical cord, giving baths, and even trimming those tiny nails without fear.

Newborn Sleep and Safety

We’ll talk through safe sleep practices, what normal newborn sleep looks like, and gentle ways to help your baby settle.

Soothing a Fussy Baby

From swaddling and baby-wearing to navigating colic, you’ll leave with tools to help your baby feel calm and secure.

Postpartum Recovery and Mental Health

Your healing matters too. We’ll cover what to expect in the early weeks after birth—physically and emotionally—and how to care for yourself during this time.

Support for Partners and Families

We’ll talk about how partners, relatives, and friends can pitch in meaningfully, so you feel supported, not overwhelmed.

Investment

The investment for this class is $120, and what you’ll walk away with is priceless. You'll find peace of mind, practical skills, and a whole lot of confidence.

Want to go more in depth? Additional education and support can be added at a rate of $35 per hour.

Prefer learning in a group setting? Group classes are only $50 per couple. Group classes are in person only at this time. My next class will be Tuesday October 7th and 14th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
